Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen Monitors
Lifesaving Gas Detection by Analox
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is a colorless and odorless gas, which is present in the air we breath, in very low concentrations. Classified as a ‘substance hazardous to health’ by the Health & Safety Organizations, higher concentrations of carbon dioxide becomes harmful to health and has proved to be fatal in many circumstances. One of the biggest dangers of carbon dioxide is the fact that it is a ‘silent killer’ as it simply cannot be detected by human senses alone, even at the highest of concentrations.
Gas Detectors for every Industry
Agriculture: An industry at the very heart of our world. Everyday, farmers ensure we have livestock, fish, and crops to feed our families, and with the global population ever increasing, we have had to find smarter, safer, and more efficient and environmentally friendly ways of farming. We provide a wide range of gas analyzers and detection systems which can help improve process analysis and site and staff safety.
Livestock farming is the biggest contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). On average, one cow produces around 300 liters of methane (CH4) per week. One way we can protect the environment and make pastoral farming less damaging is through nutritional and genetic research. Analyzers can be utilized to measure the levels of CH4 and carbon dioxide (CO2) being expelled from the animals’ digestive system.
Compressed Air & HAZMAT: Exposure to chemicals commonly used in workplaces can lead to a variety of short- and long-term health effects, such as poisoning, skin rashes, and disorders of the lung, kidney, and liver. Air should be tested to ensure the correct level of oxygen (O₂) (20.9%) is maintained and that the air is free from contamination. Using a portable or fixed breathing air monitor to either spot check or continually monitor this supply ensures the safety of the HAZMAT key worker in line with the EN12021 regulations.
With sensors for oxygen (O₂), carbon dioxide (CO₂), carbon monoxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), and water (H₂0), the ACG+ can continuously measure the quality of the air to keep your team safe. It also assists with meeting standards such as EN12021, OSHA, CGA and CSA. The HAZMAT suits are a critical part of the PPE and usually consist of impermeable material covering the entire body and self contained breathing apparatus (SCUBA) to ensure a clean air supply is maintained. These suits are designed to keep you safe and make sure the compressed air you breath is safe too.
Food & Beverage: Dispense gas (also known as beer gas, keg gas, cellar gas, and pub gas) is used to help with the process of dispensing drinks, usually in bars and restaurants and usually in the leisure and hospitality industry. Using dispense gas in the process of dispensing beer and soft drinks is commonly applied worldwide.
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) or a nitrogen (N₂) mix are routinely used by pubs and bars to ‘pump’ beverages through beer gas lines or to carbonate fizzy drinks on site. Bars, restaurants, and other leisure facility gas suppliers not only deliver gas to put the ‘fizz’ in drinks and to help transport the beverage from keg to pump, but the gas also contributes to the taste. Carbon dioxide (CO₂) as a keg gas keeps the keg contents sterile and at the right quantities, and it maintains draft beer equipment and an efficient dispense system.
Gas Manufacturing: When carbon dioxide (CO₂) leaks, it can cause asphyxiation, and it is highly toxic even at low levels. International legislations such as OSHA, EH40, and NIOSH state you must not be exposed to just 1.5% carbon dioxide (CO₂) for any longer than 15 minutes. By understanding the risks posed by gas leaks and having the correct equipment to detect, monitor, and analyze the gas, you have the knowledge and tools to save lives. Our range of gas detectors have been built to help save lives. By detecting dangerous levels of gas and alerting the user to these levels, the user is able to act quickly and safely.
We can provide Bulk Discounts for multiple gas detectors purchased at once.
Green Energy: Protecting our planet has never been more important. Globally, we must reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, so we can lower the levels of greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted and combat climate change, together. There are many other energy options available such as: biomass, biogas, tidal energy, hydrogen, geothermal, wind, and solar.
As well as utilizing other energy sources, we can reduce the levels of GHG by embracing carbon capture, re-purposing our carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, and finding innovative ways to reduce CO2 and methane (CH4) from major global sources such as cows. Did you know that belching bovines contribute 15% of global greenhouse emissions? We offer state-of-the-art analyzers specifically designed to monitor the processed gas for carbon reduction applications and to keep those in areas where these gases can present a risk to life safe from harm.
Laboratories & Medical: A wide variety of gases are used in laboratories, such as carbon dioxide (CO₂), argon (Ar), helium (He), nitrogen (N₂), and oxygen (O₂). These gases pose a serious risk should they leak; this risk can occur from fixed piped gas systems or individual cylinders of gases. We offer a range of fixed and portable gas detectors suitable for various laboratory and medical processes that use gas and are ideal for detecting gas leaks. From portable oxygen (O₂) monitors, such as our Aspida, to fixed monitors such as the O₂NE+, our range can help keep you safe from inert gas leaks.
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is widely used as a laboratory gas in cryogenic applications, sample transportation, and cell culture incubators. Other gases stored in laboratories include inert gases such as argon (Ar), nitrogen (N₂), and helium (He), which are used as carrier gases or in cryogenics. Whereas a leak of CO₂ will cause a higher concentration of this gas in the atmosphere, a leak of any of these gases can lead to oxygen (O₂ ) depletion. Laboratories also store and operate with high levels of oxygen (O₂). A leak of enriched oxygen (O₂) is a fire risk.
Submarines: We understand the critical importance of ensuring personnel are protected by appropriate and effective gas monitoring, especially in the submarine arena. We are dedicated to offering you a personalized service that ensures the cradle to grave product life-cycle is tailored to suit your specific requirements.
The Design and Engineering team’s hard work ensures we are able to offer innovative equipment that is optimized to suit the environment and designed to be supported effectively throughout the platform’s life. This includes onboard the submarines themselves, the submarine bases, and all dockside services.
