WinnersVirtual welding, oxy-fuel cutting and a fifties-style car show were just a few of the activities which were a part of Cee Kay Supply’s used equipment expo. This was the first year Cee Kay decided to hold its used equipment expo on a Saturday and pair the sale with a variety of different activities.

The expo not only featured sales on new, used and reconditioned equipment, but also a virtual welding competition, an I-beam cutting contest, a car show, metal art display, nitrogen ice cream booth, cutting table demonstrations and free lunch. Over 200 people were in attendance throughout the day, with 54 people competing in the virtual welding competition and 25 people competing in the I-beam cutting contest. Thomas Fassler took home a new Lincoln Electric SP-140 MIG welder for winning the virtual welding competition, with a high score of 96. J.D. Monken won a new Victor Journeyman cutting outfit for having a cut-time of 40 seconds in the I-beam cutting contest.

“Our virtual welding competition really sparked a lot of interest from local students,” Cee Kay Supply Marketing Coordinator, Andrew Swyers said. “We plan to continue having events like this in the future to help support the growth of St. Louis’s welding industry.”
