Step into the Future
A New Ice Age Is On The Way
Your Refrigeration Systems Will Thank You Later
Cee Kay’s quality R290 refrigerant is a high purity, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional refrigerants. Hydrocarbon refrigerants such as R290 have increased in popularity because of the increased efforts to lessen greenhouse gas emissions, global warming, and the overall environmental impact. Hydrocarbon refrigerants won’t deplete the ozone layer or trap heat in the atmosphere like carbon dioxide, and Cee Kay’s R290 is a quality propane-based refrigerant perfect for use with air conditioners and freezers. Besides reducing ozone depletion potential and global warming, R290 operates at a lower heat and pressure than fluorocarbon refrigerants. This translates to less wear and tear on machinery.
Applications that use R290 refrigerant include:
- Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Systems
- Chiller Systems and Chill Cabinetry
- Cold Storage
- AC Systems
- Heating Pumps and Water Heaters
Cee Kay offers various cylinder sizes to meet your R290 refrigerant needs. Always choose Cee Kay for clean cylinder packages, in-stock inventory, and quick, next day delivery options.
Keep Costs and Temperatures Low
Cee Kay’s laboratory tested and certified r290 helps save money and the environment.

R290 Safety is #1 Priority
R290 is classified under UN1978 Propane and is considered an extremely flammable product and involves additional proper safety precautions when storing, handling, transporting and charging the product than standard refrigerants. Industrial grade propane is significantly different in chemical make-up and purity than R290 and should never be substituted for refrigeration applications due to the potential damage to the equipment and safety. ALWAYS refer to SDS sheets and comply with all applicable codes and manufacturer recommendations when handling R290. Never use R290 with systems and components that are not compatible with flammable refrigerants.
R290 Refrigerant should only be used by highly trained commercial refrigeration technicians.
